Top-10 reads for a new parent


So you are carrying the most precious little bundle within you, or already have one in your arms....Well if you are going to be/are a first-time mother/parent, there are many confusions and questions you would be having.

One of the best ways to ease all your worries, apart from a good heart-to-heart with your gynae, would be to read a few really good books that know what they are talking about, without being preachy or boring. Some good books are especially great in the way that they let you know and understand everything about your baby as it grows each day and help you keep track of its development on a daily basis.

So here's a list of the top 10 parenting books that I have compiled, some I have read personally and others have been recommended by friends....

1. What to expect when you are expecting
Author Heidi Murkoff
This book is a source of real-life experiences and knowledge, facts and fears and
everything a mother would want to know regarding the complete changes in her body
and the development of the baby on a day-to-day basis.

2. What to Eat when you are expecting
Author Heidi Murkoff
This book gives you information about what is good to eat during the pregnancy
how it will help your baby.

3. What to expect the first year (from birth till 01st birthday)
Author Heidi Murkoff
This book is an essential read, especially for first time parents, as it tracks
baby's development on a daily and monthly basis and teaches you valuable things
like how to feed your baby, how to give them a bath, the correct ways of handling
an infant, how to help them go to sleep, so on and so forth.

4. What to expect the toddler years (from birth till 03rd birthday)

This book tracks baby's development on a daily and monthly basis from the first

An essential read for all men who are about to become fathers. It talks about the

8. Checklist for your new baby

This book talks about what all you would be needing for your new-born, as also
what you DO NOT need. A practical book.

well-behaved child with a good opinion of themselves.
