So there was a lot of planning done before we left for the hospital about what all we would need at the hospital and once we were back home....But as always, there were a few things that we overlooked or didn't take into account. After careful understanding and first-hand experience all over again, we managed to create a complete list of the absolute must-haves for baby right from birth till few weeks when you bring baby home.
*do remember that there will be a change in your weight post delivery. While some women will lose a considerable amount of weight and may be able to fit in in their pre-pregnancy clothes within a week(s) after baby arrives, others may take longer/much longer, some may actually put on more weight and some may put on weight and lose it again soon - whatever happens, don't despair as these changes are temporary. But the point is that don't plan too ahead and buy too many post-delivery clothes in advance.

Must-Haves for Newborn:
- big diaper pack - we initially did the mistake of buying a small pack as we only wanted to put baby in diapers at night. But we soon realised that even at night, those first few weeks or even months, can mean multiple diaper changes through the night.
- big nappy pads pack - same as above, we weren't really putting much of these as we wanted baby to be more in cloth nappies rather than in nappy pads or diapers for as much as possible, but even then, a bigger pack is what you really need.
- infant wraps - and lots of them
- infant towel
- baby wipes - lots of them in case you're not using water much to clean - in our case, we use water only while giving baby a bath, else we use the wipes
- baby mittens
- infant dry sheet - to help keep the bed dry
- vests with full front buttons - make sure you buy clothes that have only buttons down the front (not the back) as these are easier to get baby in, rather than the ones that you have to pull down over baby's head
- hand sanitiser - yes, it's a must-have
- feeding gowns - preferably get the ones that have zippers instead of buttons as they are more discreet
- feeding cloak
- track pants and leggings - most of the time you'll be wearing feeding gowns at home during the first weeks/months and I like to wear these under my gowns for the comfort
- comfortable lingerie - you've already bought them during pregnancy, but you'll need to buy a fresh set after delivery, as your bust size may change
