Do you hear that? Do your the jingling? The merry making? The ho ho ho? I can hear it almost! And both me and my daughter are super excited with all the fun that comes along with Christmas.....

Each year we set up our Christmas tree, and this year is no different...But if you don't have one at home, for whatever reasons, but would still like for your kids to feel this wonderful celebration, you can indulge in some cheerful bright decorations around the house instead!

So even as we are busy setting up some cute decorations around the house, here are some great ideas for you to try out with your children....Christmas tree or no Christmas tree, these decorations will still give your home that decked up, bright and cosy look!

1. Lots of sparkles....

Make sure you get lots of sparkly things around the house, on the tree (if you're getting one) or in your kids' room......nothing like some shiny bright sparklers to set off the mood.

2. Same coloured highlight decor

Using the same colour decor at a single point will make it a big highlight. You can go for bright golds, reds, silvers and greens to deck up corners or create focal points around the house.

3. Sparkly balls

4. Paper cut-outs

5. Creating a stick tree

Why not let your child create their own christmas tree using ice-cream spoons or sticks? They can create various decorations using old jeweled decorations, stickers and so on....Makes a great piece to put up on their door, in their room or place anywhere around the house.

6. Bindi decorations

Bring out your old decorations (you are most likely to have lots of leftover decorations from Diwali, or in case you don't you can easily buy these cheap, plain decoration balls from the market). Ask your kids to deck them up with bindis, stick on jewels and stuff...Hang them up around the house when done.

7. Cute socks and Santas

Most of you will have kids socks at home (of course if you have kids you gotta have those socks too, right?)...even if its not red, you can string up socks in various colours....and add in a Santa toy if you have :-)

8. Creative Stars with kitchen spices

I could never have come up with this !!!! Plain cinnamon sticks hot glued and stuck together and drizzled with glitter....wow!
