Simple Summer Indoor Activities For Your Little One

Oh it's the summer holidays and trust me, I've already gone bonkers - handling my daughter at home the WHOLE day and managing office work and other assignments too - Uff!!!!

Though I enjoy having her around more and it's a lot of fun, there are times when I know she gets bored bored bored! She does go to an activity center in the day for a couple of hours, but that's not enough to keep a 05-year-old interested, right? So was going through other ideas to let her have fun indoors (can't go out its simply tooooo sunny and crazy hot!) and thought it would be a good idea to share some ideas here with you all.....

Get your child a scrapbook: It's fun! Give them a little scrapbook or journal of their own where they can cut out and keep tidbits, write their own notes, make their own stories and put up special pictures....Remember your own scrapbooking days? This will sure be a lot of fun!

Reading: Reading is something that the more your child loves, the better. Make your child interested towards books in different ways and encourage reading. Not only will this be a great way to pass the time during vacations, it's also sure to help your child later in class, and not to mention, help them learn with fun.

Tent time: Camping and staying in a tent is always an extremely fun thing for any kid of any age group, and while you're thinking of something that you can let your child do indoors, don't give up on this one yet! There are a host of kiddie tents you can purchase in the market easily and these can be set up right in your kids' room, in the living room, a corner of the house, a terrace or even the balcony (if you have that much space there). And if you don't want to buy one, you can always create one at home by using old sheets and pinning them up. Throw in a torch light, a cushion, a book, a basket of food and string some lights on the 'tent' to make it fun at night!

Puppets:  Let your child have fun and get creative by making their own puppets. There's not much you need to buy, instead, let them use things that are right there at home - finger-puppets, food puppet, string puppet, paper puppet, stick puppet, shadow puppet - there's so much to do!

Picninc @ Home:  It's always fun to have a picnic...Let your kids arrange their own picnic. Call over their friends, lay down some sheets on the floor, hand them a basket of home-made goodies and picnic food and there - it's right in your own home!

Art and Craft: Keep a designated space at home for art and craft supplies that your child can easily access. Store lots of paper, colours, kid scissors, pencils, erasers, pens, decorative material and let your child create their own art and craft.

Summer Pool:  This is sooooooooo much fun I don't even need to elaborate here :-) If you don't have a tub in your bathroom, this is something you MUST let your kids indulge in......
